About Us

Welcome!

Idyllically situated in the countryside on the outskirts of the city, the AMAVIDA Montessori School has developed into its own little cosmos. Here, children aged 6 to 12 learn bilingually from the first day of school according to the concept of Maria Montessori, who recognized the advantages of networked and mixed-age learning at school over 100 years ago. Our efforts have once again been officially recognized by the Vienna Department of Education with the awarding of public status.

In the carefully prepared environment, the development and developmental needs of each individual child are the focus of our attention, and we accompany the children and their families on their way into adolescence. In addition to networked learning (Maria Montessori called it Cosmic Education), we are multilingual, i.e. the children initially learn in German and English, with Spanish being added as a third language from the 4th grade onwards.

We have already started planning the learning environment for the 12 to 15-year-olds at our location so that the young people can continue on this path until the end of compulsory schooling; the opening of the 7th to 9th grades is planned for the 2027/28 school year.

The registration period for the 1st to 6th grades for the school year 2025/26 and also for 2026/27 is currently open. We look forward to welcoming you and your children to our beautiful school at any time. Please feel free to contact us or fill out a pre-registration form!

Montessori Method

We regard the education of grades 1 to 6 as a fundamental cornerstone for nurturing lifelong learning.

By acknowledging that children between the ages of 6 and 12, as emphasized by Maria Montessori, possess an inherent "spirit of inquiry" and a "reasonable mind," we passionately strive to foster and guide this natural curiosity. Our approach diverges from presenting dry academic content to be passively absorbed; instead, we tailor our teaching individually to the interests of each child.

During this developmental phase, children are naturally inclined to deeply immerse themselves in the essence of things, to explore and question the whys, origins, and goals. The conventional curriculum serves as a toolkit for their explorations. While these skills are undoubtedly nurtured within our learning environment, their primary significance lies in facilitating their enthusiastic application. This is not a result of imposed agendas, but rather due to their intrinsic desire to actively engage and apply themselves.
